The Toronto Raptors and point guard Kyle Lowry have agreed to one-year contract extension for $31 million, agent Mark Bartelstein told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Lowry extends contract with league champion franchise, Toronto Raptors. Тhe experienced playmaker has extended his contract to another season, which means that in the next two years he will earn just over $64 million.
This deal gives him financial security – not location security. The Raptors can still trade him. But he locks in another high salary, maybe his last big payday. The deal between the Toronto team’s leadership and Kyle Lowry was signed this weekend, when the team leadership made up the team for next season.
Kyle Lowry is one of the few players who justifiably turned down the call for the USA team. He had his left hand operated on after last season. Lowry averaged 14.2 points and a career-high 8.7 assists in 65 regular-season games last season. He then increased his scoring average to 15.0 points in the Raptors’ run to the title (24 games) in the playoffs.
